Visit to Norwegian partner - Lorenskog

In the period 5.6. - 11.6.2022, two members of our project team (Lukáš Hodis and Evžen Weigl) participated in a week-long visit to the Norwegian project partner - Lorenskog upper secondary school.
The visit included a tour of the school and the adjacent school facilities, including the psychological support centres for pupils, as well as discussions with school representatives (teachers, social workers, student services) and several classroom sessions focused on the education of refugee children from Ukraine and the Middle East.
The primary goal of the visit was to share knowledge, experiences and approaches to educating students from different cultures. Norway is one of the most developed countries in this respect, having faced several waves of refugees in recent years. A large number of support programmes have been set up within the school system in Norway to improve the quality of education for refugees and their overall integration into society. Our intention was therefore to draw on as many suggestions as possible that are also transferable to the school environment in the Czech Republic and can help teachers to cope with the current situation related to the influx of Ukrainian refugees. We processed the knowledge gained in the form of a short summary report, which will be one of the bases of the resulting methodology of good practice.
